Tourist Tax
A tourist tax has to be paid by any person not resident in the city of Florence, for each overnight stay in facilities situated within the Municipality of Florence.
To comply with the regulation a tourist tax of €4.90 per person per night will be applied at checkout up to a maximum of seven nights (please see exemptions below). This charge, determined by law, is required by the Public Administration and not the hotel.
Excluded from this payment are:
- children up to twelve years of age
- people accompanying patients hospitalized within the municipality, also those in an outpatient setting, with a maximum of two assistants per patient
- patients who make use of hospital care in an outpatient setting
- students enrolled at the University of Florence
